Best Rifle Scope for You: How to Choose the Right One

How to choose correct scope for a rifle is as important as choosing the gun itself

If you want a scope that will be accurate and guarantee reliability, then be assured it will cost at least half price of the gun itself. A good rifle scope with that kind of price ratio will best help to uncover scope of the gun that you purchase. Reality is that, scope can cost much more, an important factor to note is that it should never cost less. It's also hard to get two similar scopes, but finding identical is almost next to impossible.
The fact is, exterior can be almost or completely identical, they are likely to differ from each other. A gun with same appearances as well as similar characteristics may have a price that varies between ten to twenty times more. That begs one to ask the difference should be?

The lenses are main parts:

This is a complex instrument, the scope. Designs of scopes are as complex as that design of a telescope or a camera lens. It should be noted that lenses are important things in a gun scope. Optic is important and the wellness of lens should match set levels of accuracy and reliability, its that simple. Lens are important since they are what forms images. How does one make a choice and understand such a difference?
- Image feature depends on chemical composition of glass and method it was manufactured. Most Asian made have low features which can never match the American models which are a bit pricier. Small problems in the lens such as the glass not being able to be visible to are some of the features that Asian lenses have. These manufacturing problems do include the lenses having bubbles, or pebbles. These problems cause distortion of the images and this in turn makes the images blurry.
Objective lens diameter:
The characteristic of scope you want to choose depends on size of objective lens. Large objective lens have their benefits in that they transmit light better, and they have higher magnification. However, such an instrument needs to be big and heavy making it uncomfortable.

Exit Pupil:

The size of ocular and objective lens determine an important characteristics such as exit pupil. There's a small circle of light that appears in eyepiece when you hold a scope at arm's length. Larger exit pupil and it will be easier to use that particular scope. To any untrained shooter, a 7mm scope is perfect, a 1.5mm may create difficulties even to experienced gun owners.

What you need to know about magnification:

Magnification has got to be one important characteristic of the scope. It determines when you can use a scope and places where you cannot use it. Standard 3x 9x magnification can be used for white tail deer, but for longer targets, a 4x 12x magnification is preferred.

Rifle Scope Body:

If you want to buy an expensive scope, it has to be made of duralumin. This type of scope is sealed and filled with nitrogen. Nitrogen is known to protect lenses from sweating when there's high temperatures, thus, you must never disassemble your scope.
